Which subreddits a SaaS should watch

The subreddits worth watching are the ones where your buyer asks for a recommendation in a normal week. A large general community can be the wrong place even when the keyword appears there, because the posts are news, jokes, and arguments. A smaller community of practitioners often has the choosing threads.

How to test a community in one sitting

Open the new feed. Count how many posts in the last month are someone asking what to use. If you cannot find a handful, do not add it to a monitor. If the useful posts are all removed, the rules are telling you the community does not want tool replies, and a monitor will only create work you should not do.

Search the product category, the problem, and the competitor's name. The subreddit finder returns public communities for a query. Read the description, open the community on Reddit, and only then decide. A search result is not a recommendation.

How many to watch

Starter allows 8 subreddits on the account, Pro 20, Growth 50. You do not have to fill the quota. Eight communities you will actually read beat fifty you added because a tool suggested them. Put the same care into keywords: a category word plus the competitor names you lose deals to.

Why this is not a directory

A page for every subreddit looks like coverage and reads like a template. The communities that matter change with the product. Keep the list inside the project, review it when the inbox goes quiet or goes noisy, and drop the ones that only produce skips.
