What counts as buyer intent on Reddit
A buying thread names a job to be done and asks other people how they do it. The strong versions ask for a recommendation, an alternative to a product they already use, a comparison, or a price. Weaker versions ask for thoughts on a launch or vent about a category without asking what to use.
Buying-intent data, in this context, is that public text plus a judgment of how close the writer is to choosing. It is not a purchased contact list. The person is already in a thread, under their own username, describing the problem in their words.
High-intent leads on Reddit are those threads, not every keyword match. A post that mentions your category while telling a story is a mention. A post that says they are switching and asks what people pay is a lead worth a reply.
How this score is calculated
The analyzer looks for a fixed set of phrases: requests for a recommendation, competitor and alternative language, shortlist and pricing words, asks for someone who has used a product, urgency, and a software category. Each match adds weight. Length adds a small amount so a one-line joke does not outrank a real question. The result is capped at 100.
Grades are Low under 34, Moderate from 34 to 66, High from 67 to 84, and Very High from 85 up. The reply angle is a writing constraint, not a generated comment. Comparison threads should answer the tradeoff. Pricing threads should state the number. Low scores should usually be skipped.
